Michigan Chapter of the World Lebanese Cultural Union attended the 13th annual World Lebanese Cultural Union in Beirut, Lebanon

Michigan Chapter of the World Lebanese Cultural Union attended the 13th annual World Lebanese Cultural Union in Beirut, Lebanon

The 13th annual World Lebanese Cultural Union was held in Beirut on the 13th of March 2010. Michigan Chapter was represented by its president, the trustee and the vice president and additional members of the leadership.

The Chapter participation served as a catalyst that changed the tone of the convention to one that encouraged reconciliation and unity among the international chapters.

The convention was held under exceptional environment filled with fragmentations and divisions that would have threatened the unity and the future existance of the Union. Michigan Chapter played an important mediation roles to narrow the gap among among attendees, which initiated the opportunity to a democratic debate and helped preserve the Union that represents the Lebanese unity abroad.

We reaffirm again and again our commitment to a unified Union and we invite all members and chapters across the five continents to work together to preserve the Union and to continue its mission to help the creative Lebanese abroad to show Lebanon Beauty and Love in all walks of life and to our ability to create and succeed. Here I would like to site as a proof Miss USA Rima Fakih who emigrated from the mother land to the United States and the world stopped and took notice of her beauty.

We invite all members of the Union to examine their stand constructively and the return to the dialogue table and focus on preserving the Union and to absorb all the obstacles and soften our differences in order to stay within the realm and mission of the Union. The Union is a part of our national responsibility and is part of Lebanon status abroad with economical, cultural and civilization depth, so preserving it is a matter of national preservation.

Dr. Hassan Hammoud, MD., President of the Lebanese National Cultural Union in the state of Michigan, USA.
